Interesting poll on CNN

Hello all -

have been away for a bit - but see that I have not missed much.
About this poll nonsense - why the hell would CNN even run something this ridiculous. This country seems to be turning into a fascist dictatorship - I think Bush and his cohorts need to have their heads examined.

Im any case, offcourse legal working aliens (what a term!!) like 3rd world countries (who the hell came up with that one) - I diagress, coming back to this SS benefit issue - if an "alien" has had SS deducted from his/her taxes their entire working life in this country - why the hell shouldn't that person receive its benefit.

This sh*******t reallty gets to me :mad:
 
Why do you need this vote ?

India is already in the list of countries which receive SS benefits if a person of Indian origin has served in US for 10 years. This treaty was signed long time back. The person doesn't have to be a US citizen. This issue has come up recently because of Mexico. I think they want to add mexico now.


Am I missing anything major here??

i don't understand why they would even ask this question either. if our pay checks have a line that says "social security tax" that takes our hard earned money out, why wouldn't we deserve to use its benefits.

then again, social security is such a rip off anyway.

if they don't want to give us the benefits, then they shouldn't take out the money from my pay check. in this case, i'd more than happy to vote no. i like to keep that money and invest it myself for greater benefits in the future. social security...what a joke.
 
BTW, i went to the link and can't find the poll anymore. BUT i decided to write a note to the host of "moneyline" anyway expressing my two cents.

We, legal immigrants, are probably the most law abiding people in this country in fear of losing our stay here. We pay all sorts of taxes without question. We don't deserve to receive any of the benefits??

next, they are probably going to ask about medicare. what another waste of tax payers' money in my opinion.

although i do not approve many programs sponsored by the government, it is trying to do its best. hey, i still believe this is the best country to reside. the postives do out weigh the negatives.
