I have a problem, really confused. My wife\'s I-485 got a intent to deny notice on Oct 29th questioning her legal status. Attorney said he responded on Nov 9th. When I checked with him 3 weeks ago he said he talked to INS and they have received her papers. I talked to INS today and they say that they haven\'t received any papers from attorney. What\'s happenning here? There was a 30day limit to respond and it\'s almost 3mos now.. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

What details do you need? they just say that after her stamping on H4 expired they don\'t have any more records of her. But she got it renewed and didn\'t get a stamping since she didn\'t leave the country.

I think you will have to prove that she had legal status all the time during her stay in USA. Probably, you should have all I-94s.
If at any time, she is not having legal status, I think you should pay $1000/- penalty. I have read some postings on this board
similar to this one. Just check those postings and take the advice of a good attorney.

While you are worried about your wife\'s abnormal issue, the prick va2002 is more worried about your wife\'s status (meaning dates). What he implies is even if ur house burns, he won\'t tell you the source where u can get some water to put out the fire but will try to find out how it caught fire just for his curiosity and self satisfaction.

Per previous discussions, utmost ur wife will have to pay a fine of $1000 if her illegal stay (assume) has been less than 180 days.
Also ur attorney should have a fedex receipt or some proof of delivery. So don\'t panic
