I am on H1B visa, currently out of Project. My employer is not paying for my health insurance. I have decided to go back to my home country by March 2nd or 3rd week. My son is on H4 Dependent visa and has to stay back in the US as he has to complete his 12th ( The school year finishes in June). Do I have to buy health insurance for him? I have heard that the hospital has to take care of a H4 visa holder even if he does not have health insurance. Will the hospital cover for routine check up and emergencies even if he does not have health insurance? Can you please reply ASAP?
Thank you for your help.

You must buy the insurance for him. If your employer is going to revoke your H1 by writing to USCIS then your son will not be on H4 status. H4 status is tied to H1 status.

Thank you Ginnu for your reply.
But my employer is not revoking my H1. Still I have to buy insurance for my son?
