Today, as I watched the democratic convention, I was so excited to see the diversity of those who attended. I was so happy to see two speakers. The first was a senate candidate from illinois who is a son of an African immigrant and the second was the proud immigrant wife of our next president Kerry. These folks clearly gave me hope for my future as an immigrant in America. They made me feel that i am a part of this great nation and that i do not have to conform to the majority to be recognized and appreciated. Their presence in the convention proves that America is becoming more diverse and multicultural. They both talk about the need to create a safe environment for women and minority. I am sure you wont find that any time soon or in any other convention. I resent the bloody immigration rules that prevent me from voting even though i have been living in this country for 12 years and never broke any law. the long wait to get my green card is preventing me from participating in this amazing democratic process. 2 years from now i will be eligible and i will vote every time i can. God bless America and God bless Kerry.
