Inspected by a Immigration Officer?

I was filing my 485, and one item asked me if I was ever inspected by a U.S. immigration officer.
I asked my husband (the American) what it exactly meant, he told me to check NO, which I thought would be no, since it sounded kind of serious, like I did something illegal and i was being inspected. So I checked no.

And then now, I was looking at the instruction of the AP file under III, the third item under Travel Warning, it said:

"unlawful presence is defined as being in the U.S without having been inspected and admitted or paroled(illegal entry), or after the period of authorized stay has expired"

Do these two "inspected" refer to the same thing as going through the custom when I enter the US?

thanks!

If you passed through customs and immigration, you were inspected.

Checking no tells USCIS to deny your petition, since you cannot file an AOS if you entered without inspection.
