The Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) is undergoing re-organization! The INS, which was under the Department of Justice, has now been split into 3 separate agencies which all fall under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

• BCIS: The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services will be responsible for most of the application and petition adjudications currently done by INS, or the service aspect of the Bureau.
• BICE: The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be responsible for INS investigations, detention, removal, intelligence, and SEVIS, or Bureau enforcement.
• BCBP: The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection will be responsible for INS inspections at U.S. ports of entry, for the Border Patrol, and for the Customs Service.

INS will now be referred to as one of the 3 terms above. Since this is a period of transition you might experience delays.
