INS lost I 131 file, Please advise what to do?

Hello Members.,


Please advise me what do to get the another AP for my wife(H4).
My company atternoy filed for wife AP on 11/26/03.
INS sent email to me that case approved on April 13th. so far atternoy did not get approval notice. after some time atternoy approched to INS. INS told to her not re-issued. I guess file lost in INS. Atternoy told me better file once again. Please advise what I can do? is there any problem to get it.

In advace I giving thanks to who ever give the information.

I know the frustration you are going through. Infact, Losing AP file in INS is not a big deal. I have seen folks loosing their entire file(140 and 485) together. But dont worry. Just refile it.

I understand that she hasnt lost her 485 application from your posting.

Since it is a mistake/error by CIS you can request them to expediate the adjucation/processing process.
check for uscis.gov how to expediate process

You are welcome Venkat,
Your attorney should know the documents related to AP filing. But just attach one letter stating your old AP receipt number and let them know that it was lost by their negligence.

For AP there is nothing to do other than to file the AP application. I dont see that you need to send anything other than that. This is best of my knowledge regarding AP, since you have already filed others.
