INS is Kind if you have child with you

We went to INS office in San Jose on 11/23/01 for passport stamping after I485 approval. Our children (1.5 yrs and 5 yrs) were with us. We reached there at 5:45 am. There were about 80 people before us. When INS opened the gate and started to let people in at around 7:10 am, the security personnel called out for people with little child(ren) with them and let them get in before others. We found this very kind and sympathetic. But INS shows this kindness only when they open the gate at around 7 am.

How much time did it take...Please post more details..

I am planning to go to SJ office for PP stamping on Tuesday (Monday\'s will be busy according to the posts that I have seen here...). Please post your experience (Total time, etc..).

I am plannig to carry PP, EAD, Approval letters, I-94 (No AP), Let me know if I need any thing else...

Thanks,
Ravi.
