grant me the perm. residency.

My wife (I always trust my wifes midas touch) checked up and woke me up to inform that I got approved. Now I have to wait for her to get approved which is also in the same stage, as we both applied separately.

I just talked yesterday to an IIO who said that my file is \'Adjudication Ready\', so that any time it may be approved.

There were days I had got so fed up and the thought of me returning back lingered. The interesting thing of the whole fact is that I finished my MBA. It is just a permission to stay in US. But for me this journey had been a long one, as having waited for applying alomost 2 years after coming to US and then I missed to apply 485 by four days when the date got retrogressed in April 2000. Had to wait for almost one year when my dates become current.....

Compared to others, I will be exhausting my 6 years in another two months, which is not bad....Been with the same company for this long....

Finally, I would like to thank all these wonderful co-applicants and aspirants of GC who made the last one year interesting by providing valuable suggestions... and special thanks goes to Rajiv Khanna for providing this forum...

I would thank all those regular contributors, irregular contributors, fantatics, gurus, contrarians for their views... thanks to CIBA, PCEE for maintaining the summary....

Will be back with the stamping experience.

Congratulations!

Hope your wife\'s approval comes through soon. Yes, your wait has been long. Enjoy your new found freedom!

Question for amburan

w.r.t. my post rsrgc "Question on simultaneous 485s" 2/5/02 11:21am can you throw some light?

You\'ve mentioned that both you and your wife applied for I-485 separately. I presume you did not include each other as dependents, otherwise she could have got her approval along with yours. Can you share any concerns you had while you took these decisions (to apply separately etc.).

Thanks and congratulations on your approval. It seems to have been a long road for you.

GoldenGate.

Your lawyer is absolutely right. The A# is fixed for a given person right from the FP stage. So if by any chance you have two 485, you will automatically get denied. Even for the simple fact, we were pondering whether to go in for CP after filing 485 and our lawyer advised against it.

My wife did not have some documents at the time of filing and hence we thought we file her separately. She also has I-140 approved. Later after couple of months, we decided that we will file her as \'FTJ\' rather than separately and use her 485 exercising option in case mine is denied for some reason. Moreover I was doing my MBA and thought if I make a carreer switch, and in the meanwhile my 485 was not approved, I can still use my wife 485 without starting all over again, as I will be in total different category of job.

If the primary applicant case is free of any status violations or job change, then you should go in for one 485 and add spouse as dependent and use the option of using your spouse 485 if you run into any problems or denial of case.

Since we filed separately under one visa availability, but used the option of FTJ.

I hope I have explained my case.
