Initiate inquiry with NSC

We filed I-140 that went to NSC and got LIN number and is still pending.

Then we filed I485/EAD/AP and those went to TSC and got SRC numbers.
EAD and AP were approved and FP is done.

But then our pending 485 was transferred to NSC. But since then everytime we call NSC, they first tell us that the case is with TSC. Then we explain the whole thing to them and then they say "yes, its here".

My concern is they are probably going to overlook our case for processing.

Is there anyway for us to initiate an inquiry with NSC to resolve this?

One rep at NSC actually told us that we will be probably delayed because we have SRC number. And he said it was our lawyers mistake to send to TSC. But lawyer has proof they sent to NSC, but not that willing to follow up. They are saying it is probably OK....

Anyone have any ideas about how to make sure our case is being processed in NSC?

I140 ND - May 12 (LIN - 06 - 164 - xxxx)
LUD - Jul 22
I140 AD - ??

I485 ND Jun 2 (SRC)
LUD Jun 27, Jun 28, Jul 8
Transfer notice receievd - Jul 1

I have the same situation. My 140 originally filed in VSC went to NSC and my 485, AP and EAD orginally filed with NSC, went to TSC and got SRC number.
I did finish FP and got EAD and AP approved. I received transfer notice from TSC saying that 485 has been transferred to NSC some time in May.
After 3 months of silence, i received an email from NSC saying that they have received my 485 from TSC. CSC is the only center that my application didn't go as of now..
they would have their time spent well rather than bouncing these applications back and forth..

When did u receive the notice from NSC that they received ur case?
We did not receive anything from NSC. We only got the transfer notice from TSC.

I agree, its probably easier for them and us if they dont move our cases around. Things just get more complicated in an already complex process.

Did u have to contact NSC to get a notice from them?

I got the transfer email from TSC on May 30 and Recieved Email from NSC on Aug 7. so you may need to wait for some time.

I'm trying to c when ur case has reached NSC and it maybe took them some time to send u the email after that.

Call customer service and they will be able to tell you the status. I just called and they have told all the dates that i had told you ealier in the post and in addition to that, the customer rep told me that i can initaite inquiry if i need to know more info after 6 months from the RD. At that point, she told me that she would be able to tell more about the case. For transferred cases, she told me to wait for 60 days from the date of transfer to initiate enquiry.

Thanks for the info. What is the procedure to intiate an enquiry? Can we do it ourselves by just telling the rep we want to do it? Or do we need a lawyer or any paperwork?

I got the email received on aug 8, saying that application has been received here on aug 7th. I do not see there would be any delay in the email.
as soon as they open the transfer packet and make an entry into the system, email is generated. But there will be lot of time spent untouched between the time they receive it from TSC and actually open the packet and entry into system, I believe.

Hi guys,

Here is my case. I got I-140 EB-2 NIW approval from VSC and our 485 was transferred to NSC. I got email notification about the transfer (the transfer happened on July 13, 2006) and I have not received any email from NSC saying that they received my file. Should I worry for this? I have the transfer notice in my hand (hard copy sent by VSC). Its been 2 and half months I did not get anything from NSC. Your feedback will be appreciated.

We filed our EAD/AP at NSC since our 485 is there (assuming :)) and i got the EAD approval from NSC and interestingly/disgustingly our AP applications were transferred to VSC. NSC says that in order to speed up the process they have transferred to VSC. what a game USCIS is playing?

Nothing to worry. I guess, this is the normal process. You would get an email and transfer notice from the Service Center Transferring your case.
Then the Recipient Service Center would receive it and until they open the transfer packet, you won't hear from them. Once they touch your transferred case, the first activity is you would get an email from the receiving service center saying that we have received your application here on such date for processing. I had to wait for almost 3 months from the date that I received the transfer email (may 30) from TSC until I get the received email from NSC on Aug 8, saying that application has been received here on Aug 7. Eventhough, as per TSC email, it was transferred on May 30, NSC will tell you the date they opened your transferred packet as the day they recived your case(weird though). Hope this clarify the situation.

FOR WHAT MY DEAR!!!!????

to inform him about that one case is one office and the other one is in another one and it takes forever the service center to put them together, so maybe he will help us in sending an inquiry to the service centers. what do u think?

the customer service 800 number is realy useless so i thaught talkin with the ombusdman is a good idea.
