I have applied for spouse visa . i had my interview in the interview they asked for few documents and gave me a blue paper with 221 g status . i have submitted my documents through VFS it about a month now and i didn't receive any updates from the embassy . Is there any way that i can track my case status.

Depending on what the missing document was, the consulate is either reviewing it by themselves, or they are awaiting a response from some federal agency in DC. In either case, the only way for you to get an update is via the consulate, if they even entertain such requests.
