I got my green card last month and I am travelling to my home country after 2 years.

1. Do I have to carry any documents (like old H1 approvals etc..) other than physical green card & passport?

2. what to do just in case green card or passport or both lost during tarvel outside the US? Just to be aware of the procedure.

Thanks

1. Nope! GC confirms your status as a PR.

2. Have copies of your GC & passport made and keep it separately from your other stuffs. In a worst scenario, you must go to the nearest US embassy/consulate and once, your PR status is verified, they will issue you a letter that you must show when leaving for the US & at the POE. Last month, this happened to a NY-based couple at UK. An emergency letter was issued to them by US authorities in UK.

Good Luck!
