I just hanged up and this is the information I got from her.

She is a very nice lady. After letting her know my case number, she said it may take a month or so. Here is the scripts

Me: 485 has been stuck with the 11/16/01 for quite a long time
IIO: We have a lot of backlogs.
Me: I heard from my lawyer saying that you guys are putting more officers.
IIo: Yes we are, every month we put new officers and they need to get trained.
Me: I heard that there was a meeting on May 19th and 7 more officers are being assigned on 485.
IIO: I do not know how your lawyer got the exact number.
Me: My second FP expired, can you do something about that?
IIO: The officer will send you a notice for FP redo.
Me: That means I have to wait for my case to be assigned and the officer will decide on appointment for FP redo.
IIo: yes.
Me; thanks

Two things I got from her:
1. New officers are being assigned. She is saying every month. I hope that is not a routine answer to my specific question
2. Officer will issue FP redo notice once case is assigned

I still doubt that the scale and validaty of the new officers assigned to 485. The first person who posted the message may get the same routine answer like mine. " New officers are being assigned each month". I highly doubt if that is true.

Until we see some real progress or a speed-up in two-four weeks, the Mag 7 story will turns out to be a wrong understanding of IIo's polite and coutesy answer to the inquiries
 
I called and IIO said

that they cannot give any more detail than on the web. ALso she told me to contact the Califonia 949.....number to get the specific of the case.

Why is this hullabo (on (800) 375-5283) when they are reducing the information that was being provided to immigrants ?

It looks like they are just closing more information access to immigrants thru this National telephone number.

NCSC is very polite for a change, it cannot be managed by INS. But I feel looking at how many people are frustrated, this will raise a few eyebrows for sure.

Either NCSC will quit being polite anymore, or

Someone will kick INS's butt.

Either of the 2 can happen .. lets wait and find out which one.

2nd FP expired. And you are waiting for 3rd one ???

:confused: How is that possible. FP are valid for 15 months

I wouldn't even be shocked. But I think maybe NCSC is actually managed by a different organization .. (it could be), they are so polite, it is so unlike INS ..
