I just called the TSC asking for namecheck status, the representative checked my case, and said it is still pending as of today. Since I received 2nd FP recently, was hoping it was trigured by namecheck clearance. Do you think TSC has the most updated information on namechecks? Is it worthy to make an infopass appointment to confirm the namecheck?

To reach TSC, I got the following from this website:
Please call the 1-800-3... NSC and follow the
below steps. Here is the sequence of steps i followed
to get to this:

Press 1 (for english),
press 2 (for existing case),
press 6 (for case statues etc),
then press 1( for knowing your receipt no.),
enter the receipt # to get the automated response
saying blah blah blah and also at the end saying this
is the most upto date information on your case and our
customer the same info national customer service
agents have (i totally agree with this).
Then choose to continue to the next step "press 3" .
choose 3
Listen to the options-
Option 4 "if you feel if you submitted together and
one of the applications is left out and not processed
(don't remmember the exact message text ..but
something about companion case "

inquiry status

I received on 03/30 inquiry status after my lawyer did inquiry on 2/23.

That my background check is still pending so I should wait for 6 months. Though I remember the lady over the phone on TSC customer service told me that everything is finished and we are just waiting for someone to sit on your case.

I filed my case on 06/23 and the letter is saying that my receipt date is 07/12.

My son who is dependent on me, also received inquiry status letter that he should receive decision within 60 days and his receipt date is unknown.

I am not clear about all this.

there is 2 twice at the beginning...in the POJ Trick...
TSC, dial 1 800 375 5283 then 1-2-2-6-1 enter SRC# then 1-1-3-4 you can talk with imm. officer directly

Well, I guess, you could try the following...to know about namecheck,
1) Congressman/Senator Inquiry on namecheck status
2) TSC Inquiry over phone using POJ Trick...
3) Infopass

the easiest way to know if your namecheck has cleared, is by calling TSC 3-4 times and asking them the date when namecheck cleared...if they tell roughly the same dates...I would say, it's cleared......If you call 3-4 times and they say not cleared everytime...then may be it's not cleared...

With Congressman/Senator inquiry - they will give you a letter in mail...so that's the best way to know...and probably the most trustworthy (Funny though, I remember one guy luckyone2000 or so...congressman wrongly told him that it was cleared when it was not...Ha Ha...thought that's rare!)

- Infopass, not sure how trustworthy...may be a little better than trusting phone reps, I guess!
