InfoPass to get a passport stamped

I had the interview last month. The interview went well. The officer didn't approve the case at the time but she told me to wait 2-3 weeks for any notices or a green card. I've been waiting and checking online case status since then, but there's nothing showed on the website that my case is approved. I wonder if I can make an InfoPass appointment to get a passport stamped(I-551). Will the officer stamp me the passport? I'm not traveling out the country but still want to get any evidence to confirm that my case is approved.
 
I got my GC through my wife in Dec 2008. During the interview the officer took away all my doc (EAD, I94) and at the end she gave me a generic approval letter with some number written on it (I don't remember if that number is same as my A# on GC). Also I asked her at that time to stamp my passport for I551 but as per her we need to show her proof that we have plans to leave country immediately, else she won't stamp the passport and we have to wait for my GC in mail. I got my GC in 2-3 weeks time.
