Last year I left the company(based in CA) I was working full time with and joined a consulting firm in NH. I joined as a contractor in a different company. Recently my previous company based in CA got a notification from DOL saying that my case would be transferred to backlog reduction center in Philly.
They called me and asked me if I would want to join them back as a full time employee.
My NH application is still in limbo and will be transfered to backlog. However the consulting firm will file for PERM while the CA company may not.

Is it advisable to go back to my old company or just wait for PERM with my current consulting firm ?
Any suggestions/recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone has data on the processing times in the backlog centers, it would be an immense help.

If you qualify to apply in EB-2 under PERM then stay with the consulting company. If not then it is prudent to go back to the CA company because after the retrogression the most important thing is Priority Date.

Pls note that most ( I think almost all) IT occupations do not qualify for EB-2 under PERM.

Also note that 140-485 processing time are the fastest in CA at this moment and if they remain the same in future then that will be a big plus for you in long run.

Good Luck.

Is there a Way to find out the status Cases at Backlog Reduction Centers ?
or thow far they have been progressed in terms of Priority dates ?
like how many are completed or what month/yr cases are in progress currently ? both at Philli and Dallas
