Hello, I would appreciate some information.
My boss is interested in sponsoring an H1B visa for a foreign computer engineer for the 2007 Fiscal year, which begins in October this year. (since the cap has already been reached for 2006.)
The foreign individual has a bachelor's degree in computer science, and over 8 years experience in the field.
I am in charge of gathering all the information, and I know that the first step is filing the Labor Condition Application.(LCA)
However I still have some questions and have not been able to find the answers to them anywhere, I would appreciate it if you could help.
1- Is it true that the LCA can only be filed online now? Is the fax no longer an option?
2- Do we have to wait until April 1st, 2006 (when the new H1B cap opens) to file the LCA? Or can it be filed before that date? Is that date only for the visa application?
3- Is there a customer service phone # I can call regarding this subject?
4- I've heard that there are no more H1B visas left for the 2007 FY, because they are already reserved for the people that are in queue from last year, is this true? If so, how can it be true if the new cap hasn't even been open yet?
