I have been in the US for the past 5 years, the first two years on H1B and the last 3 years on L1B type visas. My current L1B visa will be expiring by the end of May 2004. I heard that there is a limit of 5 years on L1B visas which includes my first 2 years of stay here on H1B. I want to know if I am eligible for an H1B when the quota opens up this october. If yes, for how many years. If not when can I reapply? My wife has a valid H1B visa and my daughter is a US citizen.

I am planning to leave to India by the end of this month and your answer will help me plan my career.

Thanks in Advance.

After 5 years on L-1B, you have leave USA for one year to reset the clock.
