urgent pls, revalidation at Bombay

Hi everyone,

Has anyone recently revalidated their H1 using drop box or other way at Bombay consulate, Please share your experiences. How long did it take to get your visa from the day you applied. Its very urgent for me to know. Please if someone can help.

i had got my h1 stamping done in mumbai in may 2002 - so it was a while back. the process was very smooth - they asked for a lot fewer documents than i had brought. they took my passport on tuesday and i had it stamped and delivered home on thursday.

but i have heard that the situation is now different and chances for being called for an interview are bigger.

my friend revalidated his passport in chennai late last year. they asked him to produce ALL his paystubs he earned while he was in the US (i.e. 4 years worth of paystubs) so probably they are scrutinising a bit more now.

Thanks for your reply, yes I too had no problems in 2002.

I would really appreciate if someone who had their revalidation at Bombay recently, could share their experiences. I really need to know, as I will have very short stay In India.
 
Mar-03.

Did drop box (2 prev. H1s in p/p)
Called for a PAR. So went and no issues. Looked at all my docs.

Just wanted to waste my time and money.:eek:

How exactly dropbox works in Mumbai?

My wife will be applying for her H4 in Mumbai in next few days. Does she have to go to Tirupati bld on Bhulabhai desai road where the us embassy is.

Can anybody else also go instead of her?

After that, what is the procedure?

Do I need to send my original employment letter or copy will do?

Whats a PIR. how many days did it take for u from the day u dropped ur p/p from validation till the day u got it back. Exact number of days will be a great imformation from u, as i have very short stay in Mumbai. Also what docs do I need to carry. Pls let me know.

Shah , is this first h4 stamping for ur wife. if its not I had no problem in 2nd time stamping for my wife (but in 2002) , she used drop box , took my original h1 approval notice , p/p copy and original marriage certificate. this was two years back , things might be different now so pls check.

This is 2nd time H4. Do we have to go to Bhulabhai Desai US Embassy for dropping our application and packet?

Also, do we need original employment certificate or copy will do?

Sorry my mistake. Should read PAR - Personal Appearance Required. I think it was sent on fri and returned back on Wed. I flew to BOM on Fri and got the visa done. Passport was asked to be collected on Mon (so got it picked up by a relative).
