For the MMP vaccine, what if you have already had mumps and measles as a child? Do you still have to get the vaccine?

Then you need an antibody test for mumps and measles to prove that you had those illnesses. It might be easier (and cheaper) to just get the MMP vaccine instead of two antibody tests and one vaccine.
 
I brought a note from the doctor that I had the illnesses (I had all of them). It was sufficient.

I also had titers done when I was hired to work at a hospital, but the civil surgeon didn't ask to look at them.

and the vaccine is MMR (mumps-measles-rubella), not MMP.
 
It depends on the doctor whether it is accepted to just bring a letter from another doctor: some accept it, others require an antibody test, and I've also heard about doctors who didn't even accept antibody tests.
