Indians needn\'t worry about US visa regulations

Diplomatic BS

The US ambassador is paid to twist insane rules with his diplomatic BS.

Because of this new rule, visitors from India are at the mercy of the visa officer to grant them a 30 day ( default ) or more length of stay.
What reasons can one cite for a visit over 30 days? Because of this uncertainty, the cost of travel will also rise because the visitor would have to buy open ended tickets.

It is possible. But this rule has not gone into effect yet.

As regards the duration granted on th epassport, for example if one\'s parents are coming for, say delivery, one can clearly state that one is coming for helping after the delivery and planning to stay exactly x months. Since as of now the rule is not enacted yet, the problem of the INS officer rejecting that long a stay is moot.
Let us wait and see.

I agree with babbs_s ......

Please be careful while writing your own assumption and suggestion here.

Claiming to visit USA for the purpose of helping in delivery is replacing an qualified USA person\'s job and unauthorized work in USA.

Please look at Murthy\'s chat for details.
Half baked knowledge is dangerous.

One question. Since u seem to have read all of Attorney

Murthy\'s chats, does it make your knowledge more "baked" than mine?
Come on man, I just reported about the 30 day issue as it is a thorn on many people\'s sides.

Baba Yaga don\'t take it personally...

as I don\'t have anything personal against you. I appreciate your good intension of posting that link.
But, on the same thread you posted "...or example if one\'s parents are coming for, say delivery, one can clearly state that one is coming for helping after the delivery and planning to stay exactly x months....".

This may give a wrong idea to people to claim INS or Consulate officials that they are going for \'helping\' on delivery and in turn which can be interpreted differently by those officials.

I don\'t claim that reading certain chat room posts make my knowledge more "baked" than yours. But doing so may improve our understanding on various INS issues.

All I claimed in my previous mail is to be careful on posting \'half baked knowledge\' responses/replies which may harm others.
