Hello all,
I hope someone can provide me some help /advise/thoughts on this issue. Please DONOT judge me.
I graduated with Masters and married a US Citizen in Sep2008.I filed for change of status ,I-485,I-130 etc..in Nov2008.I received my EAD recently.
Unfortunately I've been having problems with my abusive husband and now am 7weeks pregnant.I want to have the baby but I have second thoughts.
Due to recession ,I havenot found a job in my field yet(Materials Science) and to be financially independent is tough but I am trying hard to get my resume out there.
Can anybody tell me if and when I may lose my temporary GC /resident status for divorcing my husband? I know that if a baby is born here ,he/she will be a US Citizen. What will my status be if I deliver the baby here after divorce?I want to stay here in the country longterm. Is there a way to protect myself from getting deported/having an illegal status after leaving my US Citizen husband?
advise is appreciated..thanks
