Indianapolis Indiana experience and USCIS delays

Thought I'd post what happened at Interview etc. for wife in Indianapolis.

Interview went well, officer said all paperwork sent in was in order.
BUT, USCIS DID NOT DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY AND DID NOT PROCESS PAPERS IN THE PAST CORRECTLY!!
Case would not be pushed forward until USCIS fixed their mistake.
Then would have to wait another 3 months for Indiana to swear in. Yeah, big delay isn't it? Was told that fixing the USCIS mistake would take 1-2 months. Been waiting more than two months now and no information as to when it will be done.

Congressman's office (B. E.) has been of little assistance.
We sent a letter 2 months ago asking that they would ask USCIS to not go beyond 1-2 months we were told it would take, to carry out this fix. Reasonable request? Apparently not to the Congressman's office! They explained that they don't want to contact USCIS very much.

By the way, others who put in their citizenship papers 2 months after but paid a higher fee, had their interview before my wife, and I expect could be citizens within a few weeks.

What exactly must USCIS fix with the case?

Cancel a previous J-1 A number from 5 years ago. It should have been cancelled but was never caught at any step of the whole process.

My God, what incompetence from USCIS..have you thought about writing supervisors or politicians about their mix up and how it affects you and what they plan to so in future to make sure it doesn't happen again to others?
