Indian Stamp paper

I need a Rs.100 Indian stamp paper. Does anybody know, is there a place in New York City, where I can get an Indian stamp paper. Thanks in advance for your information.

Basically I want to give power of attorney to buy property in India.

I know this question doesn't belong to this discussion group. But I don't know where to post it and I know this forum is very hot, so I think I will get an answer. Thanks again.

I guess power of attorney document prepared in the US is valid in Indian courts, too. It might be a good idea to consult the Indian consulate in NY - they often attest such documents:

Thanks.

Jigesh,

Can I print it on plain paper?
Is that document valid in Indian banks which process loan?

Please shed some light.

Thanks a bunch.

If the power of attorney document is attested by the Indian consulate, it should be OK - I am not 100% sure though. In past, I had three affidavits done in the US and attested by the Indian Embassy at DC (which were otherwise supposed to be done on Indian non-judicial stamp papers) worked fine in India for non-financial purposes.

I suggest inquiring with the Indian consulate at NY.

Best wishes,

Jigesh
