Indian Consulate Screwed Up Again!!!

Can you believe this. I had sent my PP renewal app and my infant son's PP for Indian visa together with Express mail return payment and they sent only my app via Express Mail and his by certified mail. I received my PP back, but the post office can't find his certified letter. Sure the post office has to be blamed for loosing a certified letter, but why did the Indian consulate, NY not send the PPs by express mail? They should know how important these documents are in this country and they are so careless about these things. I am trying to reach a live person, but it always goes to the voicemail, how ridiculous!! We have to make an India trip in two weeks and we are in soup.

Has anyone gotten US passport by expediting? I have heard that they issue passports same day if you go to the passport office? Is that true?

I have couple of numbers of Indian Consulate in New York. Try these:

CGNY
212-774-0660
212-774-0664
212-774-0644
212-774-0606
212-774-0641

Board
212-774-0600

One of these is mail room number. Some of these are unlisted ones. You can ask them where to call for missing passport!

Thanks JK, I did finally reach someone at 212-774-0666, but no passport yet, hopefully is shows up mysteriously in my mailbox, otherwise my $3000 trip is in trouble.
