India Visit , Coming back on AP - H1b Appointment (MUMBAI)

I am planning to visit India in May 2005. I have AP. I do not have stamp on PP.

If I schedule H1B stamping appoinemnt Mumbai just for backup. and my AP is valid when I come back in USA then I will cancle appoinemnt for H1b stamping ?

is that possible ?

If your AP is valid then you don't need H1 to come back . YOu can come back using AP. Its up to you what you want to use to enter USA. AP or H1 its your choice.If you want to use your AP then you can cancel your H1 appointment and come back using AP.
