India - K3 interview waiting times - Mumbai

I live in US. Waiting for my wife and stepchild to come from Mumbai.
Today I got a letter from NVC that in a week they will have my case available at Mumbai consulate and they will do interview scheduling from then on.
My question:
1. what is the sequence of steps now on and timeframe?
2. what is the time frame (earliest) I can expect to have my family go for interview in Mumbai for K3/K4? I checked visa case number on the schedule for this month and next month but it does not show my case. Ofcourse not all timeslots are taken up.
3. Anyone with experience doing K4 visa? As you know there is no petition nor approval sent for minor child - only K3 Spouse approval sent. Any issues?

I dont have any particular experience with Mumbai as I went through London for my K1. Even though they are 2 different visas, the process at the consulate stage are very similar. What will happen is once Mumbai receive the petition, they will send 'packet 3' to your spouse. Your spouse will then go through the checklist that is sent in the packet and make sure they have all the required documents (Affivdavit of support, birth certificate etc). There will also be instruction on forms that need to be downloaded and filled in. When your spouse fills in the checklist and sends it back to the embassy, the embassy will then arrange an interview date. Once this has been set, they will send 'packet 4' to your spouse which will include a letter stating the date and time of the interview along with instructions about how to arrange a medical.

Im not sure about the actual timeframe as each case/consulate if different. Here is a link to a thread where there are a bunch of people going through Mumbai who got their initial petitions approved in Nov and Dec, so Im sure a quick read through this will help answer those Qs.

K3 approved by USCIS - how long it takes NVC to send it to Mumbai

Anyone has lately experienced with new procedure, how long it takes NVC to prepare and send your packet to Mumbai consulate once they have your approved K3 from USCIS ? Ours is sitting in NVC for a month now. NVC keeps saying it is under processing and does not give any estimate.
