Independent contractor with an EAD?

Situation:
- Derivative applicant for EB I-485
- Current EAD
- EAD expires in Aug
- EAD renewal expected Sep (assuming 4-5 months proc. time)
- Considering several small project-based assignments with
different companies over the next few months

Question:
- Can he become an independent contractor?
- Is that the same as incorporating?
- What is the best form - C Corp, S Corp or LLC ?
- Assuming that there is a one-two month gap between
EADs, is it possible to work as an independent contractor
during that period? Or is it advisable to get iEAD ?
- Where would one file the I-9 showing proof of work
authorization?
