What does the PCC clearance in passport look like? Does that have a date, stamp or signature?
Please help.

Hi
I received a letter from the Embassy in their letter head signed by a Consular officer stating my name, Passport No: and place of issue and that i donot have any adverse criminal records. Also there was a stamp in the Passport page, it said PCC for USA issued by the Indian Embassy.

Hope this helps

Ind_img, Thanks for the quick reply could you also clarify this...

Does the stamp or anywhere in the passport do they mention the date, or any other information apart from PCC for USA issued by the Indian Embassy.

Thanks again!

following things are stamped on passport...

pcc issued for USA
Ref:NYCG/PV/L###/02
Date:mm/dd/yyyy
Stamp of consulate general of india new york...
signature of consular officer and his status

Stamp in passport not required.

Neither NVC nor US consulate reviews the "PCC issuance" stamp in your passport. They just need the actual PCC letter as Ind_img described.
The stamp is for the reference of Indian embassy / consulate that issued it.

I am not sure if the stamp is required or not. But in my passport there is a stamp with the Date on which PCC was issued and all other info as mentioned by jsj123.

I think the stamp in the PP is for record purpose, rather than a required document

But it would give a sense of satisfaction that the PCC is not forged for anyone who wants to verify the PCC
