Incorrect info on the application

I got married in July many years ago. At that time, my wife and I applied for the marriage certificate two month before actual our marriage ceremony in July.

In a citizenship application, I mistakenly put the actual marriage ceremony date, rather than the date on the marriage cerficate.

I plan to be truthful about the situation, saying, "I made a mistake with the marriage date in the application form. It should be "May" as it is written in the marriage certificate."

Will my action cause any delay or denial to the citizenship?

Also, if I have been a lawful permanent resident for more than 5 years, will I consider as "applying for citizenship based on the marriage? I am asking this question because I received my green card based on the marriage to a US citizen.

Thanks for your help in advance!

You will have the opportunity to correct this and any other mistakes at the interview, and it won't cause any delay unless the change is material enough to affect your eligibility or make USCIS redo the background check.

For the 5 year vs. 3 years married to a US citizen option, it doesn't matter how you got your green card. It only matters whether you qualify for the option you selected based on your length of residence and marriage. If you qualify for both, in most cases it is better choose the 5 year option in order to avoid the hassle of obtaining extra documents and being asked extra questions related to your marriage. If you selected the 3 year marriage option but you also qualify for the 5 year option, you can ask the interviewer to change it to the 5 year option.
