Incorrect Eye Color has been taken in Finger Printing

Dear Immigration.com Forum Members,
I had my Finger print done last week (Jan-22-2005) in INS Hartford CT. They gave me one-page worksheet requesting information like name, color of my eye and hair etc.

I filled up that sheet with eye color as black and returned it to the Staff. As she reviewed the sheet she struck out the eye color black and marked off the brown color. Somehow I didn't think of asking her why she did that. But now I am worried as it could create any problem in FBI verification.

Please advise if I could correct it.

Thank you,
Muthu.

happened to me too

for what its worth - the same thing happened to me in May '04. I got my 485 approval in Dec. So don't worry!

I asked my wife what color I should fill in and she said "black". The lady fingerprinting me said "your eyes are not black, they are brown". I told her I asked my wife and joked that maybe she should look more closely into my eyes in the future :D That lady got a kick out of that one.

Take a close look in the mirror to see if your eyes are really brown. Also check what your passport says. In either case, I don't think it will hurt your case at all.

for what it's worth -- you never list your eye color as "black". Most of us with darker eye colors (ethnic Indians, other Asians, etc.) should put down "brown" as our eye color. For the Americans, "black eyes" would only result from taking a punch in the face.
