Incorrect A# please help

I called TSC today to give the change of address. Officer asked
my A# and gave the number in my EAD card. she said, it pulled
only my EAD not my 485 or AP.

Then, i found that the A# on my 485 receipt is different than the
one in EAD card.


AP and 485 (starts with 95)
EAD card and EAD receipt (starts with 96)

only the second digit is incorrect. when i received the EAD card
i checked all the details against the EAD receipt only. Since that
itself has the incorrect A#, i didnt know this problem until today.


I asked the officer, if i happend join another company by next month and if i use my ead card will i have any problem. she said
that shouldnt be a problem and she also said they can correct
during EAD renewal. (next year). I also called my attorney. I spoke to his assistant only. She also said the same thing. That A# is nothing to do with the EAD card. I can give the A# in my
I485.


Anyone of you have come accross similar situation? Please advise.

Yes it is a mess. You have to find out why the A# got hitched like this. I would advise you not to give out suggestions about your job change now.
Write a letter about A# woes to INS...

This happened to me. Because of this my FP results got messed up by INS.

INS had the A# wrong on my 485 receipt notice as well as my FP notice, And FBI sent the FP results to INS, referring that A# and INS, not surprisingly, trashed the results. My attorney(Fragomen et al) who was supposed to catch these mistakes( we pay them big bucks to do these ) was simply sleeping until I discovered this myself and let them know.

I would say you may want to ask your attorney to take this matter with INS and straighten this out sooner.
