Income tax

Hi,

I dont know if anyone can help. I have obtained my receipt from BCIS for my I485. ND is 5/03

I am on L1 company transfer. I read somewhere that L1 visa holders do not need to pay income tax.

Can anyone confirm if this is true? If there is truth in this and I opt not to pay income tax, will it have any adverse bearing on my GC approval?

Thanks in advance

There is no truth to this. If you earn income in US and live in US you have to pay US income tax since IRS considers you a resident.

Please pay your taxes..especially now

since the anti-L1 anti-H1 sentiments are very high in the US
visit www.nomoreh1b.com

www.hireamericancitizens.org

Both these sites mention that H1-B and L1-A/B visa holders do not pay taxes..which is illegal. You have to pay taxes, and while filing your return, you have to mention if you have paid foreign taxes

That's my opinion.I was on an L1-A visa before my approval.
Maintaining legal financial and resident status is very impt...it'll affect ur citizenship,GC everything...
Good luck

You Need To Check Out NOMOREH1B's Web Site

For a site that claims to represent US Tech workers, they have the ugliest web site I have seen in ages. This is not how I would choose to present the prowess of US Tech Workers.
