Hi,
We filed an I-130 application for our sister about a year and a half ago. Since then we have moved but still live in the same state. Does notifying the USCIS cause the priority date to reset? I really hope not given the fact that it would be reasonable for petitioners to change addresses over the course of several years.
Since the waiting periods are also rather long (past 10 years), there is a possibility she will reach retirement age in several years. What are the ramifications of this? (ie no income but retirement benefits) I would imagine many people have fallen into the same situation after having waited, in some cases, up to 20 years.
Thank you.
