I know my girlfriend can't be the only one that has experienced this. She was brought to the USA from Peru when she was 3 years old. She has never left the country since. It has been 20 years now. Her parents could not gain legal status so she lost her right to be here when she turned 18. She has been raised in the USA, educated by the USA and is more "american" then I am by most all accounts but is now an illegal alien in a country that does not want her. She is a prisoner in a country she calls home and knows no other way of life. We can't get married yet... I'm stuck in a bitter divorce that has exceeded 2 years. I would do anything for her (which is why I'm here). When we do get married, it will be for the right reasons. I swore an oath to protect the US 4 years ago when I joined the military and I need to believe the US will protect us as well.... any direction to take would be greatly appriciated. I am tired of reaching dead-ends and feeling so helpless as I watch the quality of life of the person I love depriciate each day we can't find answers.
