in removal - traveling within us

I'm currently in removal proceedings, waiting for my court date. i figured if I'll have to leave usa and most likely never come back, the least i can do is to go and see places! I have my own list of "1000 places to see before you die" and I'd really like to visit hawaii. now I'm wondering if I could simply buy the plane tickets and fly to hawaii? I do have valid us drivers license. thanks

Assuming you are "out" and there's no warrant for you or conditions on domestic travel you should have no problems. USVI and Puerto Rico should be fine too Just don't miss your court/hearing dates. Driver's license is all you need for travel.

yeah, I'm out on bond. I guess there is no warrant and paperwork they gave me doesn't contain any restrictions on travel. would it be good idea to bring copies of everything along just in case they start checking at the airport? I've heard about some undocumented people getting arrested at the airport.

I am amazed at how relaxed you are about all this. Many immigrants would sink into depression over this.

It would be a very good idea to bring copies of everything. You aren't completely "undocumented" if you have a valid DL and you also have a status, "in removal" and "out on bond." If you haven't missed a court date you should be free to travel; you just won't get back in if you leave the country.

Also if you are going to the Pacific anyway don't forget Guam, since you won't be able to visit there after you're deported. It may be more tricky than Hawaii though since they do have customs, unlike Hawaii, and may ask for a passport.
