In GC process and going to consulate for H-1B stamping

Hi!
I am planning to go to india asap. Since St Louis is taking its own sweet time in re-stamping visas, I am thinking of going to the mumbai consulate to get my visa re-stamped.
I also have a valid AP. Does this affect my visa re-stamping in any way?
Will I be eligible for H-1B restamping?

Appreciate any recent experiences/ feedback.

-- No problem, take all the papers including Lawyer certified I-129 and LCA with other documents, new style photo (2inch by 2 inch) recent employer letter, according to new rules you have to go to consulate as they now need interview
