I'm in the 7th yr extension, waiting for labor - might take anothe 2 years.

1) Is it possible to change job to another company on H1?

2) If i get a new labor application processed from a new company - can i join them after the labor is approved? If Yes, what status will it be - H1? If No, when can i join them and with what status?

3) Is there nothing i can do but wait with my current employer until the EID is availalable - which might take another 2-3 yrs in my case

Thanks

No need to join the new comapay until you are ready to adjust the status. If you want to join early , then H1

You can switch to other company provided the company who filed the Labor cert should not revoke it
Thanks

7th yr extension - Changing H1

If I change employer and go for a H1, the current employer WILL no longer support the labor process.

Can the new company successfully process and approve H1-B for 7th yr extension, without the knowledge of the existing company (which will definitely not support Labor process if i leave them )

Thanks

yes. You can do that, but problem is your 8th year extension.

7th yr extension - Changing H1

Thanks for your promt answers...

Continuing with the previous question:

If the new employer can get me a Labor process "Completed" before the end of the 7th year extension (which ends in July 2005) - will i still need a H1 for the 8th year ?

Assuming your new employer will file for a I-140 then you better get 8th year extension to be safe.
HTH
