Improvement in AP Processing Times?

It looks like the AP processing times are finally improving. My AP document took five months to arrive (RD 11/24/2003, AD 04/20/2004), whereas my wifes AP is approved today only after a little over three months of her RD.
Calls for a celebration...finally we both will be eligible to travel abroad!!
