YES....NY is processing may 2001, but it's being extra-careful and painful !

my 'employment-based' green card case was started couple of yrs. back in new york city, in a way that the employer would hire me once they file + get me a green card. After 2 years of waiting, now the labor dept. says that "3 more advertisements" should be placed in the newspaper and they will be directly supervised by the labor dept.
Lot of people are getting such replies back from them.

Does anyone know what happens after these extra-advertisements are done?.....do they work-out?

would really appreciate some advise.

thanks.
JC.

can you give some more details

hello_gc
can you shed some more information please..is that your attorney told you that your company had to put 3 more advertisements??? ..when this happened is it recently or 1 or 2 months back...
i saw some one already shared that they got query for RIR..recently...
hope everything will be fine...

hello,

thanks for the reponse. The Labor dept. in NY asked my lawyer to do more advertising. they say that the unemployment rate is pretty high and we should advertise for 3 more days and this time they will supervise the recruiting.

This just happened last week. My labor was filed 2 years back and they just replied on this case.

thanxs,
jc.

thanks hello_gc
so what your going to do now..did you spoke to your employer and your attoney???
today i'll call my attoney and ask him about this..mine was filed in RIR/EB2 in Aug 2001...so most probably my case may come after 2 months...
its good that they are doing may 2001...is that how many months you have to make those 3 advertisements...
i think no one will come if you advertise also..you may get labor..dont worry...
all the best

hello_jc

Could you tell us how many advertisements you have in the original file? Normally DOL requires at least three including Sunday.
They say having 6 advertisements (3+ 3 in one month interval) is the best.
Also, did you have any evidence of efforts to find a candidate using recruitment agencies?

hello,

my case was filed in Dec 2001. There were 3 ads done during that time. One on a Sunday and 2 weekday ads. Still they want another round of 3 such ads.

i can start a fresh case from one of the fast-moving-states, but then the "time and cost factor" won't be any better!
the employer and the attorney suggests that we go for another round of ads from NY and if that doesn't work then we think of some other state.

hello_jc
i think still they are doing april 2001..your file came randomly..
they are doing some tests may be your file came like that
bust as fas i know its still april 2001....
all the best...
i think your attorney and employer can make advertisements and do the interviews and give info to labor..that no one is suitable for this offer except you..then state labor will clear your case very fast...

Hello Hello_JC

I am sorry to hear about the ad thing, but did you lawyer mention how did your case moved that fast, since many people are waiting in the Queue before DEC 2001
