Does one need to be employed for all the time during 485 processing?

Here is the scenario...

One gets laid off after 9 months of filing I-485. He is unemployed for 3 months and then finds a similar job paying a little less than original LC petition at a different location. I-485 is not yet approved.

Is this a potential problem? I mean, considering the fact that he is employed at the time of approval in a similar job with a fairly similar salary.

Thanks

In most cases, if a RFE is sent and one has a job than there seems not much problem in approvals. Also, when one is legal to stay in the last stage and than get laid off, there is no choice left for him/her but to look for an alternative job , which may not come immediately, so there are ample reasons for being unemployed for few months at 485 stage. Salary less than LC, as opined by many is again a non issue, as the employer has to commit the LC salary only after the GC.
