Implications of H1 lay-off Zero Tolerance policy

Guys what are the implications of this news on the above mentioned site.
For somebody with a 485 pending, I94 valid and 180 days passed from RD, does the lay-off doom the application if finding a new job takes another
15-20 days and a H1 transfer (no EAD)? Will the gap in employment result in a denial?

This has been repeated over and over agian in this forum.
You can never be out of status AS LONG AS YOUR I-485 IS PENDING. Losing your job while it is pending and having no EAD, only means that you need to get an EAD or a H1 sponsorship to work. You are NOT OUT OF STATUS. However, if you do not have a job for a long time while your I-485 is pending, you should be worried as you could get an RFE for continuous employment.
