Hello there,
Could some kind soul please clarify the following two issues for me?
 1. I am on H1, and have received EB2/I-140 approval. I need to submit my I-485 paper work in the next week or so. I was planning on changing jobs in two months. What are the implications of doing this? Should I not submit my I-485 papers?

2.Can I travel to my home country after I-485 has been filed? What are the risks?

Thank you,

MC.

Dear Motley,

If you leave your job now, your GC process should start all over again. In theory, you should work for the company that it sponsoring your GC even after you get it. If you leave before that, you should apply for I-140 again (thru your new employer).

You can travel abroad after getting applying for I-485, provided your H-1 or L-1 is still valid. Have all documents handy while traveling.
