This is our case :
1). Got GC in Nov 2004
2). Applied for N-470 in Jan 2006 (after satisfying the 365 days of physical presence)
3) Received the approval in 2009. The approval is to cover continuity ONLY.
4). I always travelled once in < 6 months and my family, once in < 365 days.
5). We are now back in the US since Aug 2015.
6) We plan to meet the 900 days physical presence and apply for citizenship in 2018.
I have all along been working for the same company, through which my GC and also N-470 were processed. My understanding is, N-470 is applied only for the duration I was away from the US (2006 - 2015) and do not need it while I am in the US (2015 Aug onwards)
My question to the forum members is,
1). Is N470 still tied to my employer, even while I am in the US?
2). Assuming I change my job now, when I apply N400 in 2018, will I be able to use the N470 from my previous employer to cover the absence period.
Thank you
