Dear All,

I applied AOS for my spouse. Today i received NOA for I-130. On the I-797C, my previous 'A' number is wrong (As i am a naturalized citizen, i had indicated my A number on the I-130). Should I contact CIS and get it corrected or let it be as it is a A number as i am already a citizen. Any answers would be appreciated.

If you submitted your Nat'z certificate as proof of USC then your A number is right on it for them to fix that mistake, if you submitted your US Passport then go ahead and right a letter with the copy of NOA asking em to fix it just for your satisfaction otherwise it seems like its just a typo and if they look hard enough its right on your I-130 as well.

Are you sure that the A# is referring to you and not the beneficiary? Your spouse is the applicant in connection with the I-485, not you.

BigJoe5: Yes the A# is referring to me, as on the I-130 only the petitioner (i.e. me) is always mentioned, below the A# is my name. The applicant (i.e. my spouse) is mentioned on the I-485, 765, 131

To namecheckvictim, Yes i submitted my naturalization certificate and a photocopy of my passport. You are right if they look hard they should be able to amend that mistake, on the safer side i did put a Service request today on the phone, asking to be sent an amended I-797C, just to cover my base as on the NOA it says to contact them immediatley if there is any discrepancy.

ravi,

It is really unimportant to the case. You've done all that you need to do. Nobody is probably going to look at it until the adjustment interview. You'll be face-to-face with a USCIS Officer to make any corrections.
