Hi ,

We are trying to prepare the documents for our 485 application. One of the things that attoreny asked us was

• Personal Immunization Record: A written vaccination history is required for each family member included in the petition;

We are from India and although we had vaccinations when we were young we don't have any such "written" vaccination history. What do we do now?

Hello,

I don't know if this will help you or not, but when my mom, who didn't have her immunization record, went to do her medical, the civil surgeon asked her when and where she was born, then asked her if she had chicken pox when she was a child. When she told him "yes", he just said that she will only need one shot for tetanus and he gave her an OK on her medical to be submitted to USCIS. Of course she also had to get tested for TB, HIV and Syphilis, but not having her birth record was never an issue.

I have also heard from some friends, who didn't have their record, that they just had to get the vaccines again (not all of them, but the ones required by USCIS). Although it cost them more than the regular medical test and check up, they were never turned away.

The point is, just visit a civil surgeon, and see what he/she says. You might just have to redo the vaccines in worst case scenario.

PS. The other thing you can do is maybe try to get the immunization record from India, if it's possible (I am not from India, but I got mine sent from back home when I needed it for school.)

Thanks for the info.

Where can I get a list of vaccines required by USCIS? We have records of two vaccinations that we got right before coming to the US (MMR & Hepatitis-B I think). Just wondering what other vaccinations are left?
