Immunization prior to interview

HI
for adults residing in the US under visa, and the file being processed at NVC so hopefully interview in a few months, is this a good idea to have some shots done in advance for those who don't have vaccination records ? or is it better to wait for the medical and get them in the consulate country ? thanks

MMRs

pabcbc,

I completed my CP last month. Had medicals at Hinduja. I had no records of any vaccinations at all. The only one shot they gave me was 'MMR'. you can very well take that vaccination here and show them the records and thats all they want to see. All other vaccinations, they waived since those shots are not applicable at this age. I wouldnt worry about it too much.....it was all a breeze...

good luck with your process!

MMR shots

Hi folks,
If we have taken the MMR shots about 7 years back and have the certificate from the institute of preventive diseases, do we still need to take the MMR shots again. What is the validity period of MMR. Somebody who knows about this, please reply.
Thanks,
ssg

There is no clear validity period!

The only way to check if a vaccination received years ago is still protective is to check for antibody titers. Without that, it's the doctors discretion.
