Immigration lawyers?

Does anybody know a good immigration lawyer in Palm Beach area, Florida? I’ve been to a few and they only collected the initial fees and gave me no valuable info. I’m a 2008 DV winner EU4*** on F1 status momentarily. Don’t really need a lawyer at this point, but just for my peace of mind I would like to know if I’m doing everything right for AOS.
I’m very thankful for this forum. Keep up the good work

I don't know a lawyer in your area, but I have to say that you don't need one at all, your cn is low and if you read this forum you'll find everything that you need to know (at least it is like this for me). There is a subject with AoS for 2008 already, and many for the previous years...if you can do something by yourself, why pay others?

Thanks Ruxy. I had called KCC to ask if it is O.K to send the visa fee to DOS and they told me to wait until October since it can get mixed with the 2007 ones. I'm also planning on getting my medical done by September.
I have one issue though. I didn't work for the first 2 months on my OPT because I had to study for the Physical Therapy board exam. Do you think that might be a problem?

wait with the medical until your number becomes current.

Are you working on OPT now?

It shouldn't be a problem, however, somebody on this forum got an officer who didn't know anything about OPT and it got him in trouble.

LucyMO, why wait with the medical? From what I know, the medical exam results expire after 1 year, hence if he takes the medical in September 07, the results will be accepted until September 08. I ask you this because I also scheduled my medical exam for August and now I'm confused by your answer.
PTA, I don't think you'll have any problems. But for your peace of mind, schedule an infopass and speak with an officer from your local USCIS office about it.

Thanks, LucyMO

I actually worked full time in the field for 6 months and after that I went back to school for nursing. I'm still in the RN program now. This OPT thing really got me confused. There was no way to work full time in my profession unless I had passed the board exam. I hope they won't give me a hard time. If anybody in a similar situation please let me know. I'm even thinking to switch to CP.
