hi!
My employer had gotten approved Outstanding Researcher petition I140 for me and then filed for I485 for me and my wife (is dependent on me for immigration purposes) to VSC. 180 days after filing for I485, I was laid off from the employer. Eventually I left the USA for Europe after filing for Advance Parole (AP) application in May 2003. My wife has collected her and mine AP in the onth of June 2003. On July 25 my I485 was approved(according to on-line message), is there a way that I can get the passport stamped at US Consulate in the country where I reside now in Europe? Can my wife go on her own and get her passport stamped at the Newark, NJ BCIS field office? What are the documents and or typical questions asked that the stamping authorities would look for during passport stamping at local INS office?
If this is not possible..... if at a later stage if I decide to come back to US, do I have to start the GC process from scratch or I can use some of the processing that is done now?
Thanks a bunch for your sincere inputs.

Your wife can go and get her PP stamped at local BCIS office. Normally documents required in listed in approval letter (PP,approval letter,I-94).

You may get your PP stamped when ever you will get into the US, at port of entry, officer would parol you on the basis of GC approval and then you may get stamped . I think you need to come ASAP !

Congratulations on your approval. Return to the US on your parole visa ASAP and go for stamping with the approval letter. You should be able to get the stamping done with no problems.

Return to the US ASAP and get your passport stamped! After all this hard work, why even think of starting GC from scratch again?

A flight ticket and a week w/o pay is still worth the headache (and heart-ache) you may end up in if you don't return & get your passport stamped. You may not even qualify for GC later if the INS take your current plan of action, as an intent to relinquish your GC.

Good Luck!
