hi, how does one go about finding a good immigration attorney--for citizenship--in NYC or even in connecticut (have tried word of mouth but my circle of acquaintances do not know). is there a list or something...or any one has availed of one that one has been satisfied with?
 
Unless you have a complicated case (e.g. convictions, long absenses, ...) you really don't need an attorney to file on your behalf.
 
hi. i do have some absences and while overall my profile is fine, there are some complexities that i want to iron out. so looking to find a good immigration attorney in NY or even CT...

dont know if there is a list or some regular ones folks avail of.

any suggestions most welcome.

Try the attorneys that are truly specialized in immigration. A lot of them claim to be, but they are more interested in the attorney fees. Try http://www.aila.org for a list of attorneys in NY or CT.
